Construction to Start on Jiangsu Road Ramp of Beiheng Passageway
01/02/2018 changningtimes

It was learned from the District Commission for Construction and Transportation that the project of the Jiangsu Road Ramp of Beiheng (North Horizontal) Passageway will soon enter the stage of moving the pipelines, and it was planned that starting on December 29, the traffic organization will be adjusted on Changning Road (from Dingxi Road to Huayang Road). According to the adjustments, the original two-way five-lane Changning Road (from Dingxi Road to Huayang Road) will be reduced to two-way four lanes, and the existing sidewalks and bicycle lanes will be retained. The adjustments to the traffic organization will last for about half a year, and during the process further adjustments will be made on the basis of the progress in the construction.

The adjustments to the traffic organization are mainly implemented on Changning Road (from Dingxi Road to the entrance to Changning District Government) section, with a lane south of the central yellow line to be enclosed for construction. As the pipelines on Changning Road (from the entrance to Changning District Government to Huayang Road) have been moved, there will be no adjustment this time. On Changning Road one west-to-east lane in the southern part will be retained, and in the northern part a new west-to-east lane will be opened, with two east-to-west lanes to be retained. No changes will be made to the existing sidewalks and bicycle lanes.

The new construction project of Beiheng Passageway runs through the northern part of central Shanghai from the middle ring (Beihong Road) on the west to Neijiang Road on the east, with a total length of 19 kilometers.
