China’s largest group deals site Meituan-Dianping has formally moved to its new home at 18 Taishan Road W., a commercial complex developed by Shenya Group.

The Shenya Junyue 18 Plaza has a total space of around 90,000 square meters and the new site of Meituan-Dianping occupies an area of 34,000 square meters.

Over 1,500 employees work in the section C of the commercial complex.

The company debuted on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on September 20 raising US$4.9 billion. Founded in 2010 by Wang Xing, Meituan merged in 2015 with its then main rival Dianping.

In 2017, the Meituan Dianping platform generated over 5.8 billion transactions, worth 357 billion yuan (US$52 billion). Meituan’s total revenue in 2017 amounted to 33.9 billion yuan up from 13 billion yuan the year before.

The company has expanded its services from food delivery to movie ticketing, restaurant bookings, beauty services, groceries, hotels, travel and luxury goods, bill payment and bike rental and plans to invest in offline services and artificial intelligence, amid a push by tech firms into high street retail.

It already has more than 300 million users and serves as a platform for roughly 5 million businesses.

Changning government has launched a strategic cooperation plan with Meituan-Dianping to create a major platform of Internet plus Life Services, to push institutional innovation.
