Changning District is a  downtown district in the west of the City of Shanghai, which  borders  Jing’an District to the east,  Minghang District to the west, Jiading District to the northwest, Xuhui District to the south, and Putuo District to the north  across the Suzhou Creek, with a land area totaling  37.19 square kilometers,  ranking the 5th largest among the downtown districts of Shanghai.

Changning District has  nine streets and one  township, which  are Chengjiaqiao Street, Xinjing town, North Xinjing Street, Hongqiao Street, Xianxia Street, Zhoujiaqiao Street, Tianshan Street, Huayang Street, Xinhua Street and Jiangsu Street respectively, running from west to east,
